The great passion and love for beautiful Crete inspired Mrs. Katerina Tsikrikonaki to create "Seli", which consists of Guesthouses-Taverns-Cafes. "Seli" is built in a privileged position, on a natural "balcony", from which one can see the endless view of the Libyan Sea, as well as the southern slopes of Mount Dikti.

Having a passion for fine food and high standards of accommodation as her dream, in a location overlooking the endless blue of the sea and the beautiful landscapes of the mountainous region, Mrs. Katerina founded "Seli" at a key point of southern Crete, which harmoniously combines all three aspects of her dream. "Seli" spreads amphitheatrically at the location where it is located at an altitude of 700 m., offering unforgettable moments of relaxation and enjoyment.

Mrs. Katerina, has many years of experience in this field and a full knowledge of the criterion of good quality and proper service, while maintaining the primary purpose: to offer a smile and a pleasant stay for her customers.

"Seli" is located about 60 km. southeast of Heraklion and 2 km .east of the settlement of Ano Viannos, right next to the Monument of Heroes in Amira Vianou.

Seli is an historical location with a tragic history in the village of Amira in the Municipality of Viannos, in the prefecture of Heraklion. The provincial memorial was built in 1966 in honour of the execution of 117 men in September 1943 by the German occupation troops.

From the new airport of Kastelli, (which is under construction and will be ready for operation in 5 years), Seli is about 20 km. away, which means that travellers need about 15 to 20 minutes to reach it by car. Route Map from New Airport - 20 km - 20 minutes.

If someone wants to board a bus from the KTEL of Heraklion to Seli, the itineraries are as follows: Monday to Saturdays 09:30 and 13:30. The KTEL bus stops right outside Seli, making the journey very easy.

Alternatively, we can help, in collaboration with Rent a Car, a car rental. The distance by car is 60 km. and takes about an hour.

Seli, adopting the high quality standard of Cretan Cuisine, offers its customers unforgettable gastronomic flavours. The tradition, the local flavours, the aromas of the local Cretan cuisine and the unique view is a combination that simply enchants and fascinates them! The menu, which consists mainly of Cretan traditional dishes, made with passion and love for the pure products of the Cretan land, was designed to cover the needs of our customers to the max. The produce comes from small,local producers of Viannos, thus making their gastronomic a unique experience.
 

In addition, Cretan cuisine lessons are organised for the guests at Seli , and we help them to obtain local fresh products of the Cretan land (honey, herbs, sourdough, salt, etc.) from the local producers that we happily recommend. Learning the secrets of the Cretan cuisine will be the stepping stone for their introduction to the magical paths of the treasure called the Cretan diet.

For the construction of "Seli", all the urban planning provisions were observed issuing a building permit. Also, all the opinions legal documents have been issued for the operation of "Seli" as a Tavern / Cafe / Tourist accommodation
